Your child is enrolled in college and you wonder if you are entitled to the college scholarship? To benefit from it, your annual resources must not exceed ceilings, depending on the number of children you have to care for. The rules differ depending on whether the child is enrolled in a public or private college or in the Cned: titleContent. We present you with the information you need to know.
What applies to you ?
Public College
To be eligible for the college scholarship, the child must be enrolled in college. You have to be in charge of it, and your resources have to be no more than a certain amount.
Child's managers
To benefit from the college scholarship, you must have the child's effective and permanent load. You must financially maintain it (food, accommodation, clothing). You must also assume your emotional and educational responsibility towards him.

If you lose the child's care in the course of the year, the grant payment is withdrawn. The entitlement of the new person responsible for the child to the grant is then examined.

Married or former couple

If you are the sole caregiver of the child (single parent, divorced parent, separated parent, or widowed and not living in a relationship), only your resources are taken into account.
You will have to provide your tax notice.

If everyone files an application, they will be declared inadmissible and no scholarships will be awarded.

For the 2025-2026 school year, at the time of your child's enrollment or re-enrollment in middle school, you can give your agreement for the automatic study of your stock exchange rights. This agreement is equivalent to a scholarship application.
If you do not want to give your consent for the automatic study of your scholarship right, you must make your scholarship application online or by supplementing a paper form. That request has to be made between 1er september and october 16, 2025.

You agree to the automatic study of the stock exchange fee
When your child enrolls or re-enrolls in middle school, you give your agreement for the automatic study of your stock exchange rights. This agreement is equivalent to a scholarship application.
Your consent is collected via the registration online service or the paper registration form provided by the institution.
You're filling it in your vital statistics (surname and forenames, date and place of birth), and your partner's, if you live in a common-law relationship. This allows the recovery of the tax data needed to review the scholarship application.
You get an answer in the first trimester of the school year. If additional information is required, you will be contacted by the department responsible for examining the grant applications.
You don't agree to the automatic study of the stock exchange

The College shall send you a notification of award of a grant, indicating the amount thereof, or a notification of refusal.
The scholarship is awarded for one school year.
You can challenge the refusal decision or the amount of the grant within a period of 2 months after the notification of award or refusal.
For this, you can make a administrative appeal before the director of the registration college or the rector of the academy.

The scholarship is paid in 3 installments, to every quarter (usually late December, late March, and late June).
If your scholarship-holder child is a half-boarder or a boarder, the half-board and board expenses are deducted from the scholarship amount.
The scholarship is paid by the college's accounting officer directly into your bank account.
The college scholarship is conditional on the student's attendance.
In case unjustified and repeated absences whose duration since the beginning of the school year exceeds 15 days, a deduction may be made from the annual amount of the grant.
The decision is taken by the principal of the college. It must be justified.
Private College
To be eligible for the college scholarship, the child must be enrolled in a private college under contract or in a private college outside contract authorized by the rector of the academy to receive scholarships.
You have to be responsible for the student and your resources must not exceed a certain amount.
