Disabled child: What is the personalized school enrollment project (PPS)?
Verified 15 March 2024 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
The PPS defines the course of schooling and the pedagogical, psychological, educational, social, medical and paramedical actions that meet the specific needs of your child.
It also specifies the necessary physical arrangements or human support.
The PPS can be implemented regardless of the nature of the school where your child is attending (ordinary or specialized).
If your child is major, he or she can apply for a PPS himself or herself, but if your child is minor, it's your turn (or the legal representative) to make a request to the MDPH: titleContent.
The request can be made online through an online service, if the MDPH: titleContent of your place of residence offers it:
Application for MDPH benefits (AAH, PCH ...) and renewal
You can also apply by post through a form:
Application or renewal of disability benefits (AAH, PCH, CMI, accommodation ...)
You must contact supporting documents mentioned in connection with your online application or on the form.
Documents must be sent (or scanned if you apply online) to the MDPH: titleContent of your place of residence.
If no PPS request If the school or institution's educational team wishes a PPS to be developed, the school principal or head of school informs your child if he or she is of age, or you or his or her legal representative, to make the request.
In case of refusal or absence of response in a four-month period of your child or yourself or his or her legal representative, the Academic Director of National Education Services shall inform the MDPH.
The MDPH then takes all necessary steps to initiate a dialog with the student, or his parents or his legal representative.
The multidisciplinary evaluation team (EPR) MDPH assesses your child's situation.
The EPR brings together professionals from the health and education sectors.
The EPR then prepares the PPS and sends it to the Commission for an opinion. CDAPH: titleContent.
The development of the WEPP allows the CDAPH to take the following decisions:
- Educational guidance, which may be individual or collective or in a medico-social institution
- Allocation of appropriate teaching materials (e.g. computer)
- Accompanying measures (e.g. Accompanying persons for pupils with disabilities, Special education and home care service)
- School arrangements (e.g. part-time, adaptation of learning)
The WEPP is mailed to:
- TO yourself (parents or legal guardian) if your child is a minor or directly to your child if he is of age
- At director of your child's school or head of establishment
The principal and head of school are responsible for implementing your child's WEPP.
Once validated, the PPS is given to the referring teacher designated by the MDPH.
It is the referring teacher who monitoring PPS.
He is present at all stages of the school journey. It provides a permanent link with the MDPH EPR.
If you have questions about your child's education, you should contact the referring teacher as a priority of your child.
The PPS is updated every year.
It is also updated at each cycle change or school guidance.
